Refund & Cancellation Policy
The default terms, how per-trip terms override them, and how long a refund actually takes.

Draft pending legal review. This is a standard policy written to cover what an Indian payment gateway requires before activation. It should be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
01The most important thing
Cancellation terms are set per trip and are written in full on each trip's page. Those terms override anything on this page. A trip with blocked permits and pre-paid mountain stays cannot carry the same terms as a weekend by a river, and pretending otherwise would mean pricing every trip as though it were the strictest one.
The terms displayed on the trip page at the moment you booked are the terms that apply to you, even if we change them later for future departures.
02Default terms
Where a trip page does not state its own terms, the following apply. More than 30 days before departure: full refund, less a ₹1,500 processing fee. 15 to 30 days: 70% refund. 7 to 14 days: 40% refund. Under 7 days: no refund.
03Transferring instead of cancelling
At any point before departure, and at no cost, you can transfer your seat to another person. They take on your booking as it stands, including the balance if it is unpaid. This is almost always a better outcome than a late cancellation, and we will help you find someone from the community if you ask.
Transferring to a different date is possible subject to availability. More than 30 days out it is free. Inside 30 days it is treated as a cancellation and a new booking, because the seat you are leaving is unlikely to sell again in time.
04If we cancel
If we cancel a departure for any reason — group size, weather, road closures, permits, or anything else — you choose between a full refund of everything you have paid us, with no processing fee deducted, or a free transfer to any other departure.
We are not able to refund costs you incurred elsewhere, such as flights. This is the single strongest argument for travel insurance.
05Weather, roads and acts of nature
Himalayan roads close. Monsoons arrive early. A pass that was open on Tuesday is not open on Thursday. Where this affects part of a trip, we substitute an alternative of equivalent standard and there is no refund for the change — this is the nature of travel in these regions and we would rather say so plainly here.
Where it prevents the trip running at all, the 'if we cancel' terms above apply in full.
06Leaving a trip early
If you choose to leave a trip after it has started, or are asked to leave for a breach of the code of conduct, there is no refund for the unused portion, and any onward travel is at your own cost.
If you have to leave for a medical reason, tell your host. We will help you get out safely and we will refund any cost we genuinely recover from a supplier as a result. We cannot refund what has already been spent.
07How to cancel, and how long a refund takes
Email mistiiitales@gmail.com or WhatsApp +91 96063 37793 with your booking reference. The cancellation takes effect from the time we receive your message, not from when we reply — so send it as soon as you know.
Approved refunds are processed within 7 working days of confirmation, by transfer back to the account you paid from. Your bank then takes its own time, typically 2 to 5 working days, which is outside our control.
08Disputes
If you believe a refund has been calculated wrongly, reply to us and ask for it to be reviewed by a manager rather than raising a chargeback first. We would much rather fix it ourselves. If we cannot agree, you can write to us at our registered office and we will respond formally within 15 working days.
