Host programme

Lead the trips you wish someone had run for you.

Twelve hosts. Bring 8–12 travellers from your own community, and once the group passes ten you earn a commission on every booking after that. Your travel, stay and food are covered on every departure you host, and an operations team owns the 2am problem.

What you get

The offer, in plain numbers

Hosting with us is not a volunteer arrangement dressed up as an opportunity. Here is what it actually consists of.
  • Travel on us

Your travel, stay & food are fully covered by Mistiii Tales — on every departure you host.

  • Earn as you host

Bring 8–12 confirmed participants for your community trip, and once you cross 10 pax, earn a commission on every additional booking.

  • We handle the rest

You don't have to manage bookings, vendors, transport or operations. We fill the group, manage the logistics & support you throughout — you lead the trip.

  • Backed on the ground

A 24/7 operations line for the whole trip. Whatever goes wrong goes to a coordinator, not to you.

  • Trained, not thrown in

A two-week onboarding covering group dynamics, first aid, safety protocol and the difficult conversations, before you lead anything.

  • A host community

Twelve hosts who swap routes, vendors and hard-won lessons, and an annual hosts' meet that is itself a trip.

How it works

Five steps, about six weeks

Nobody leads a group on their own until they have co-hosted one. That is not a formality — it is where most of the learning happens.
  1. 01

    Apply

Five minutes. Tell us where you have travelled and why you want to lead.

  2. 02

    Conversation

A 30-minute call. We are looking for judgement and warmth, not a CV.

  3. 03

    Training

Two weeks, part-time and remote, covering safety, group care and operations.

  4. 04

    Shadow a trip

You co-host one departure with a senior host, fully paid.

  5. 05

    Lead your own

Pick your regions and your dates. We fill the group.

Hosts on hosting

Three of the twelve

None of them came from a guiding background. One was a schoolteacher and one was a product manager.
  • I have watched people arrive terrified of the altitude and leave planning to come back in winter. That turn is the whole job.

    Tenzin Dolma

    Kaza, Spiti · 4 trips

  • Every group has one woman who booked without telling her family. By day three she is the loudest one on the bus.

    Aarohi Mehra

    Shillong, Meghalaya · 3 trips

  • A good trek host is boring. Nothing goes wrong, because you saw it coming two days ago.

    Rehan Qureshi

    Srinagar, Kashmir · 6 trips

Apply

Five minutes, and a real person reads it

We are not scoring a CV. We are looking for judgement and generosity — whether you are the person who stays calm when a road closes and notices when someone in the group is struggling.
  • No guiding qualification needed
  • Choose your own regions and dates
  • Lead as few or as many departures as your year allows
  • We reply to every application within four working days

Rather talk it through?

Zero is a perfectly good answer.

We read every application properly. No automated rejections.

Host questions

Before you apply

The four things applicants ask most. Anything else, just message us.

Still not sure which trip?

Tell us roughly when you are free and how you like to travel, and we will suggest two.

Ask us
Do I need professional guiding experience?

No. We have hosts who came from teaching, design, hospitality and one from dentistry. What we cannot train is temperament — being calm when a road closes and generous when someone is struggling.

Is hosting full-time?

It does not have to be. Our hosts pick their own dates and lead a handful of departures a year alongside other work — nobody is asked to give up a job for this.

Can I host women-only trips?

Women hosts can lead both women-only and mixed departures. Women-only trips are led by women hosts only, without exception.

What regions can I host in?

Start with a region you genuinely know. Once you have led three trips you can propose a new route, and we will build it with you.
